great access to turtle conservation and vibrant cafes nearby
During my stay, I loved the short walk to the Sea Turtle Conservancy, where I got to learn about conservation efforts, and I enjoyed grabbing coffee at Budda Cafe, just a quick stroll away.

Magical Wildlife Refuge!
We had an incredible family getaway full of wildlife encounters! Fun family dinners at the buffet became a highlight, along with early morning hikes where we spotted sloths and vibrant frogs. Don’t miss the refreshing pool, perfect after a day of exploring. Bring waterproof gear!

My honest journey to loving (or hating) this.
The wildlife is astounding! Daily views of monkeys and toucans made for unforgettable moments. The staff exceeded expectations, accommodating our dietary needs effortlessly.
Rooms have thin walls, making privacy a concern. The dining experience felt cafeteria-like with limited choices, causing us to seek food options elsewhere.

missingWrote a review on Jul 06wildlife sightingsauthentic pizzameal time restrictionsno coffee facilitieslong walk
Wildlife sightings were abundant, with monkeys and iguanas often sharing the grounds, creating a memorable jungle atmosphere. Meals exceeded expectations, especially the authentic Italian pizza—definitely a highlight. However, the restrictions on meal times and group seating felt overly rigid, which detracted from the overall experience. Also, the absence of coffee or tea facilities in the room made it less comfortable for relaxation, and the long walks to and from the main lodge could be a bit daunting at times.

Spacious rooms surrounded by dense jungle provide a unique atmosphere that feels immersive and adventurous. The property has a great layout, enabling sightings of local wildlife, including howler monkeys that can wake you up in the morning—part of the natural charm of the area.
The bedroom accommodations leave something to be desired, especially with four of us sharing limited space and only a couple hooks for drying wet gear, leaving everything damp due to the heavy rain and humidity. The bathroom feels dated and not the cleanest, with issues arising during heavy downpours. Additionally, the lack of air conditioning and the use of mesh instead of glass windows may not be to everyone’s liking.

Just a solid selection for exploring Tortuguero with excellent value for money. The nature walk around the resort was a highlight for me. Consider grabbing dinner in town for better food options.

The atmosphere at Pachira Lodge is captivating, surrounded by wildlife and lush greenery. Comfortable accommodations came with basic amenities, yet the dining options felt quite limited and often repetitive. Scenic boat tours and friendly staff made the experience memorable despite the muddy approach and chaotic docking situation.

awesome jungle vibes and wildlife
Nestled in the rainforest, the bungalows are spacious with comfy beds. No AC, but the ceiling fan kept us cool. The shower was decent considering the location. Plenty of critters around, like howler monkeys waking us up daily. The food was tasty and staff super friendly. They offered various tours with amazing wildlife sightings.
